Stavewright was started by a steel fabricator and a landscape architect who were tired of watching good houses get bad fences.

Steel first
Wood is a finish. Structure is steel. That order of operations is why our fences look the same in year twenty as year one.
Employ, don’t subcontract
Every installer is ours: trained in our shops, paid well, and on the same crew year after year.
Design like architects
A fence is the longest built element on most properties. We treat it with the attention a facade gets.
Since 2011
Fourteen winters and counting.
- 2011
Founded in a rented bay in southeast Calgary. First season: 14 fences, every post set at 48 inches.
- 2014
Vancouver shop opens. Coastal detailing — end-grain sealing, drainage-first footings — becomes standard company-wide.
- 2017
Toronto shop opens on Carlaw Avenue. In-house permit and heritage team formed.
- 2021
Warranty extended to 25 years, transferable, after a decade of zero structural claims.
- 2025
2,400th property. Still zero subcontracted crews.
